Introducing: The A. Lange & Sohne Little Lange 1 With Guilloch Dials

Last year we saw the introduction of the Little Lange 1 Moon Phase Guilloch in pink gold with a opaline dial. It was a not-so-secret favorite of mine. This year, the Little Lange 1 is back (without the moonphase) and in three new configurations: purple dial with a white gold case, grey dial with a white gold case, and brown dial with a pink gold case. All three versions feature ?the traditional Lange 1 dial layout with a beautiful guilloch treatment. The case measures 36.8mm in diameter and is powered by the L121.1 manually-wound movement featuring a twin-aperture date, sub seconds, and a power reserve.? Why This Watch Matters The Little Lange 1 Guilloch Moon Phase burst onto the scene last year at SIHH and left a pretty big mark in the ladies' watch category. Not only was this watch popular because it is the Little Lange 1 Moon Phase (a cult favorite) but the guilloch was executed with the highest of standards that only Lange could achieve. Now Lange is taking this application to the standard Little Lange 1 with date and subsidiary seconds and even though this watch is not branded as a ladies' watch, it still shows that Lange is continuing to invest in creating more options for their female clients. Brava.? Initial Thoughts If you read my review of the Little Lange 1 Moon Phase Guilloch from SIHH last year, you will already know that I harbor a major crush on this watch. The guilloch is well-executed and softens the natural austerity associated with Lange. I am also happy to see the extension of the ladies' collection at Lange and even though purple and brown aren't necessarily my favorite colors (nor ones I would choose), I think Lange is on the right track.?
