Introducing: The Breitling Navitimer 8 Unitime

As part of the newly-unveiled Breitling Navitimer 8 collection, Breitling is introducing the Navitimer 8 Unitime, a straightforward worldtimer. The stainless steel case measures a robust 43mm across and you have your choice of either a silver or black dial, with the former looking a little more classic and the latter a little more modern. In both cases, there are 24-hour and cities rings around the edge, allowing you to tell time in 24 different timezones all at once. While you might expect a watch like this to have a fixed bezel, this one rotates with 60 positions so you can use the engraved arrow to time discrete events. Powering all of this is the caliber B35, which was Breitling's very first non-chronograph in-house movement when it was released back in 2015.? Why This Watch Matters The Unitime is a real Breitling classic. The original 1950s models are so clean, so beautiful, and a refreshing look at what Breitling could do outside the realm of chronographs. There have been modern Unitime models, though usually the complication has been paired with a chronograph C to see Breitling go back to basics with this one is awesome. Though the styling is very much vintage Breitling, there's some modern tech inside too, including a mechanism that lets you set the hour hand forward and backward in one hour jumps so you can easily dial in your new local time when getting off a flight.? A Breitling Unitimer from the 1950s. Initial Thoughts I'm a big fan of travel watches in general and worldtime watches in particular. There's something so charming about the mid-century, jet-set vibe they give off, and I love how genuinely practical the complication is too. While the 43mm case of this watch is still a little larger than I'd like it, the dial appears to be open and legible, something that isn't true for all worldtime watches. I'm interested to see this one on the wrist, and if it wears on the small side it could be a real winner.
