Weekend Report: Car Spotting At The 2015 Quail Motorsport Gathering
August 15, 2015
This weekend is, without a doubt, the most exciting of the calendar year for vintage and exotic car lovers C especially those who find themselves in Monterey, California. Monterey Car Week is the undisputed epicenter of rare automobiles, and while the benchmark event is certainly the Concourse d'Elegance at Pebble Beach (which takes place Sunday), Friday's Motorsport gathering at the Quail Lodge is becoming increasingly popular. Today, as we have done many times in the past (here at Pebble in 2013, here at Goodwood in 2012, here inside the legendary Bruce Meyer's personal garage) we want take you inside a special event so that you can appreciate the fine craftsmanship and artistry that we were lucky enough to see ourselves. Below is just a small sampling of some of the incredible automobiles we saw yesterday as the 2015 Quail Motorsports Gathering. Stay tuned for more coverage of the cars (and watches!) of this incredible week to come. From time to time, HODINKEEwill provide detailed, non-watch-related coverage to our readers in the form of aWeekend Report. We hope you will enjoy.– The HODINKEE Editorial Team 2015 Ferrari Touring Superleggera Berlinetta Lusso - A Coachbuilt Ferrari, Today 1959 Ferrari 410 Superamerica Series III 1958 BMW 507 Roadster Series II 1956 Alfa Romeo 1900 CSS3 Window Coupe A Collection Of Pre-1963 Porsches 1957 Porsche 356A Carrera 1500 GS Coupe 1952 Porsche 356 "Pre-A" Barn Find 1960s Ford GT40 1967 Ford GT40 MKIII 2017 Ford GT 1961 Alfa Romeo Sprint Speciale 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Owned By David Lee Of Hing Wah Lee Jewelers 1962 Ferrario 250 SWB Berlinetta 1961 Ferrari 250 SWB The Legendary 250 GTO 1973 Porsche Carrera RS 1973 BMW 3.0 CSL 2000 Acura NSX-T 1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage X-Pack, One of Just 29 Built 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta Porsche 911 Customized By Singer 1955 Lancia Aurelia B24S Spider America - Sold For $1,952,500 1980 BMW M1 - Sold For $599,500 1951 Ferrari 212 Inter Cabriolet - Sold for US$ 2,200,000 1965 Porshe 911 2.0 Coupe - Sold For $254,000 1928 Rolls-Royce Phantom, Completely Untouched Interior of A Maserati Mexico Interior of An Alfa Romeo 2600 Ferrari 365GT 2+2 - Sold For $254,000 Back To Back Ferrari F50s 1956 Ferrari Europa GT 1964 Alfa Romeo TZ-1 2015 Marks The 50th Anniversary Of The Ford GT350 BMW 3.0CSL 1964 Ferrari 250 LM 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Porsche 918 (In The Parking Lot) 1963 Porshe 904 GTS
