Introducing: The Doxa Sub 300 Searambler 'Silver Lung'

First, we saw the vintage reissue Sub 300 Anniversary editions, then the very popular Black Lung, and now Doxa is back with a new "Silver Lung" limited edition. Essentially a Sub 300 Searambler with the iconic Aqua Lung logo on its distinctive sunray silver dial, the Silver Lung is a limited edition of 300 units produced in a collaboration with Aqua Lung, a French diving brand founded in part by Jacques Cousteau.? Water resistant to 300m, the Silver Lung has the same 42mm steel "thin case" that makes the Sub 300 so easy to wear. While the case is wide, it sits low, is supremely comfortable, and feels quite a bit smaller than 42mm due to its proportionally small dial. I have one of the non-Aqua Lung editions of this same watch and wear it constantly (I even featured it in a recent Editor's Picks). The domed crystal is sapphire and is encircled by Doxa's legacy steel no-deco dive bezel.? Initial Thoughts Powered by the simple and reliable ETA 2824, the Silver Lung is COSC certified and comes on a full steel beads-of-rice bracelet with dive extension. Essentially a throwback to the days when watches like those from Doxa were co-branded and sold in dive shops alongside masks, fins, and wetsuits, the Silver Lung follows the Black Lung which was one of the fastest selling watches Doxa has ever produced. I talk a lot about charm when it comes to watches and I've not come across many that have as much charm as the Sub 300 Searambler. It's light, fun, easy to wear, great on a variety of straps, makes excellent use of its orange accents, and it bears one of the purest examples of Doxa's unique design language.?
