Happenings: Francois-Paul Journe To Host A Discussion On The History Of The Calendar At The Horological Society of New York (Featuring Our Own Jack Forster, Too)

Hidden below the dial, the calendar complication holds centuries worth of fascinating technical development. From simple calendars to perpetual calendars, the development has never stopped. Today, the complication represents a desire to master the specificities of the multiple calendar systems in use worldwide. At the October meeting of the Horological Society of New York, Mr. Francois-Paul Journe himself?will host a discussion on the history of calendars with a panel of world-class experts, including our own editor-in-chief Jack Forster. An F.P. Journe Quantime Perptuel movement on its own. Mr. Journe will be joined by Pierre Halimi Lacharlotte (General Manager of F.P. Journe America), Noel Poirier (Director of the National Watch & Clock Museum),?Keith Lehman (Editor of NAWCC's WatchNews), and, of course,?Jack Forster (Editor-in-Chief of a certain website you might know). A selection of important calendar pocket watches drawn from both Mr. Journes personal collection and the National Watch & Clock Museum will be on display, as well as the new F.P. Journe Quantime Perptuel with instantaneous jump.?As always, Horological Society of New York meetings are free and open to the public.
