Introducing: The Herms Slim d'Herms GMT In Rose Gold

The Slim d'Herms GMT is back this year, but now it's in rose gold. The modern classic is an addition to the existing Slim collection that was first launched in 2015. Known for the quirky Philippe Apeloig-designed numerals, the Slim d'Herms GMT was released in 2018 in palladium with grey dial and again later that year with the HODINKEE Limited Edition version that featured a blue dial. This watch is the same great GMT you know and love, except now it is in rose gold with a blue dial. The asymmetric numbers on the sub-dial indicate the home time while the secondary sub-dial displays the date. The L and H indicate AM or PM in the local (L) or home (H) time zones. The watch is still powered by the ultra-thin Herms caliber H1950 automatic movement with micro-rotor.? Initial Thoughts I have always had a soft spot for the Slim d'Herms GMT since I wrote a review of it a few years back. It's quirky and fun, but it still feels luxurious on the wrist. Now that it is in rose gold, it is even more luxurious, and the blue dial really pops.? I also appreciate the moves that Herms has taken to improve the movements in their watches by investing in 25% ownership of Vaucher in 2006 and moving away from ETA (not that there is anything wrong with ETA!). This allowed Herms to be a more meaningful player in the watchmaking realm and not just a luxury fashion brand making a watch. The GMT showcases all the things that people love about Herms and their watchmaking, and it will surely solidify itself as another classic in their Slim d'Herms line-up.
