This, my friends, is a very special episode of HODINKEE Radio. Two weeks ago we introduced you to the new format of the show, but for this one we're going to give you over an hour of uninterrupted conversation with the man, the myth, the legend, our very own Mr. Jack Forster. Jack has been with HODINKEE since 2015 and he's been our editor-in-chief since 2016, but his horological story goes back much further than that.I've been lucky enough to know Jack basically as long as I've been involved in watches professionally. I remember meeting him for the first time over cocktails at some brand-hosted event and thinking "Wow, the watch world must be a really incredible, interesting place if it's where this guy chooses to spend his time." Since then, over the last seven-plus years, he's done nothing but prove me right.?During our conversation, which also includes HODINKEE Radio producer Grey Korhonen, we get into who Jack was before watches came to dominate his life, how a flea market find changed everything, and why he still manages to wake up every morning excited to spend the day obsessed with all matters horological. Of course we also talk about New York City, martial arts, and cameras (including that one time Jack and I did a 2:00 AM photowalk in the snow in Germany because of some nasty jetlag). We've gotten a ton of requests for this episode, and I'm thrilled today to finally deliver it to you.We hope you enjoy Episode 54 of HODINKEE Radio. Check out the show notes below and let us know what you think in the comments. Wrist Check Lately, this has been the watch you're almost certain to find on Jack's left wrist. He spoke on a recent episode of HODINKEE Radio about why the Omega Speedmaster continues to be such an enduring symbol for watch nerds, space nerds, and all manner of human beings alike, and he's a man of his word. This was the first seriously nice watch that Jack ever bought, and while a number of other significant pieces have come and gone, this is one that is going to be in the Forster family collection forever. You'll have to listen to the episode to hear more about why.
