A few weeks ago we hosted our second-ever watch collection fantasy draft. We asked four editors (including me) to assemble their ideal collection of five watches for under $10,000, and the results came out great. Honestly, I'd be happy owning any of the four collections we came up with. We then asked you all to vote on the winner C and today we've got your results. I'm not going to spoil it for you C you'll just have to listen to see who came in first and who came in fourth. The results definitely don't disappoint. While I had Cole, James, and Jon in the studio, we also discussed watches that we wish we'd drafted, which picks we'd swap with one another, and a lot more. After that, we've got my conversation with Edouard Meylan, the CEO of independent watchmaker H. Moser. Moser is a brand that I've been following for a long time, and I've always enjoyed chatting with Edouard. He literally grew up in the watch industry and has incredible perspective on how it has grown and evolved. He's been at the helm of Moser since 2013, and since then, independent watchmaking has exploded. We get into why that is, what independent watchmaking brings to the table, and how he's carved out a niche for Moser in a crowded market. We also talk about this guy (we had to, right?). We hope you enjoy Episode 82 of HODINKEE Radio. Check out the show notes below, and let us know what you think in the comments. Wrist Check Just a few hours before Edouard and I sat down, H. Moser dropped a new trio of limited edition watches. Each is a variation on the Endeavour Tourbillon Concept with a Funky Blue fum dial, and Edouard was sporting the rose-gold version. This is a watch that combines many of the things Moser has become known for all in one watch. You've got one of those sunburst fum dials, and in the signature bright Funky Blue color no less; you've got no markers or logos to speak of, which is what Moser calls its "Concept" watches; and you've got a flying tourbillon that uses Moser's own double hairspring.?It's a minimalist take on a maximalist watch, and I'm totally there for it.
