Any time I can find an excuse to talk to someone at the top of their craft, I take it. There's something about people who are extremely dedicated to a particular thing and find a way to get to the peak that I find so interesting. Adam Scott certainly fits this criteria. The Australian golfer grew up surrounded by the game (his dad designs golf courses), turned pro at age 20, won the Masters in 2013, and then spent much of 2014 ranked number one in the world. And, oh yeah, he placed third at the PGA Championship a little over two weeks ago. This guy is a winner. It turns out Scott is also a true watch guy (in addition to being a longtime Rolex ambassador). As soon as we got talking, he started rattling off reference numbers, talking about different Paul Newman dial combinations and his love of the often-passed-over Sea-Dweller. This dude knows his stuff and then some, plus you can hear the excitement in his voice as he talks about it. As with many other watch guys, Scott's also got a passion for other design-driven things, including vintage Porsche, furniture and architecture (I think the two of us could probably have done a whole episode about chairs, but that's another show...), and fashion. He is, in every sense of the phrase, one of us. Just, you know, with a green jacket. We hope you enjoy Episode 8 of HODINKEE Radio. Check out the show notes below and let us know what you think in the comments. Wrist Check I mean, you kinda knew what was coming here, right? As an official ambassador (he's been one since he was 21 years old, by the way), Scott is amongst the first in line to get the newest releases from Rolex. His favorite piece right now is the 2018 GMT-Master II in the two-tone "Rolesor" combination of Everose gold and stainless steel. You kind of get the best of both worlds here C a bit of flair from the rose gold of the center links, crown, and bezel, anchored by the stainless steel case and outer bracelet links. It's warm, it's handsome, and it's just downright awesome top to bottom.
