Alright, it's time: We've got the first ever live episode of HODINKEE Radio for you today. We recorded this episode last week at the HODINKEE Pop-Up at the UTA Artist Space in Beverley Hills, just after coming in from a great Saturday morning Cars + Coffee that saw more than 100 people come out to check out an all-star line-up of cars that included nearly two dozen Porsche 911s of various kinds, an Alpha Romeo Sprint Zagato, a Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, and more. Our guest? Noted car guy, host of the Spike's Car Radio podcast, comedy legend, and, of course, Talking Watches alum, Spike Feresten.Spike's resum is essentially the comedy hall of fame. He got his start working on the Late Show with David Letterman, then did a stint at Saturday Night Live, and eventually went on to write some of the most iconic Seinfeld episodes of all time (including "The Soup Nazi" and "The Muffin Tops." Since then, he's had his own late night show and a show called Car Matchmaker (which is exactly what it sounds like), and he's currently working on a few projects he can't quite talk about yet. The guy's comedy chops and passion for cars aren't in question, but Spike is also a serious watch guy who loves watches with stories and some history. He's deep into vintage Heuer chronographs and Rolex Daytonas, but also thinks that good watches shouldn't have to cost a fortune and that everyone should be able to get a watch they love. He's funny, charming, smart, and a big nerd like the rest of us. What's not to like?We hope you enjoy the very first live episode of HODINKEE Radio. Check out the show notes below and let us know what you think in the comments. Wrist Check Spike rolled up wearing what might be the perfect watch for the occasion: a ref. 6263 Rolex Daytona. This particular model, with its silver dial and black sub-dials is sometimes called the "Little Red" because of the small red "Daytona" text just above the sub-dial at six o'clock. Spike bought this watch as a gift to himself when his late night show on Fox, Talkshow with Spike Feresten, was picked up for its third season. There's something so pure and so perfect about a manually-wound Daytona and as a consequence this one gets a lot of wrist time.
