Introducing: J.N. Shapiro Infinity Series Pure
June 04, 2025
The Infinity Series helped put J.N. Shapiro on collectors' radars when it launched in 2018, and now the next evolution of that model is here with the Infinity Series Pure, a watch with the signature guilloch and three-dimensional handsets that Shapiro is known for, but now in their thinnest and smallest case yet. Measuring 37mm by 8.8mm in stainless steel, the Infinity Series Pure is the new entry point to the brand and is priced to be within reach of a broader audience. The J.N. Shapiro Infinity Series Pure is available in two variations: one features white gold hands on a blackened zirconium dial, while the other offers rose gold hands on a frosted silver dial. Both use the brand's signature "infinity weave" pattern C a basket weave within a basket weave C which they claim is the most complex guilloch pattern in the industry. The stylized serif numerals, minute and hour track, and subseconds ring are all engraved and blackened. The hands are sculpted, then polished and finished by hand. While the watches feature a caseback that is engine-turned and hand-engraved, the case has otherwise been sourced through the Alternative Horological Alliance, allowing Shapiro to focus on his strengths in dial-making and hand-fabricating. Inside the watch is the La Joux-Perret F200, which keeps costs significantly lower than the fully made-in-America Resurgence. The movement has a 90-hour power reserve and is manually wound. The Infinity Series Pure is limited to 18 per configuration and available by inquiry through J.N. Shapiro's website. Pricing is set at $26,000, and deliveries are planned for Q4 2025. What We Think After J.N. Shapiro's efforts to revive American watchmaking in its most complete form in decades with the Resurgence, I was impressed but concerned about the long-term demand for a $70,000 to $85,000 timepiece C a price that was quite a leap for the brand. So the one question was what the brand's next move might be to maintain a more affordable price for other people wanting to support American watchmaking, or at least watchmaking with a portion of the craft made in America. The Infinity Series Pure looks like an attractive answer to that question. The 37mm by 8.8mm case feels like proof in the metala measuring stick for the brand. In the way the Resurgence was a measuring stick to prove it could make a watch in America, this time, the Pure is a watch to prove it can do a compact size. I would imagine that 37mm is a size that will satisfy many customers looking for a more traditional dress watch. The Basics Brand: J.N.
