The MB&F Tenth Anniversary Horological Machine HMX

June 03, 2015

This year MB&F celebrates its 10th year in the watchmaking business, and to honor this momentous occasion, they have conceived a new horological machine C HMX C as in the Roman numeral for ten. The tagline, "A creative adult is a child who survived," refers to MB&F founder Max Bsser's ability to see beyond the mundane and make truly innovative objects. Inspired by Bsser's love of designing fantastical supercars as a child, the HMX's curved case is made of stainless steel and grade-5 titanium and was particularly challenging to manufacture. The piece comes in four colors reflective of automotive design: Lotus black, British racing green, Bugatti blue, and Ferrari red. The three-dimensional "horological engine" is composed of a bi-directional jumping hour and trailing minutes module. It was developed in-house by MB&F and is an automatic movement powered by a Sellita gear train and 22k gold rotor.Per usual, MB&F never ceases to amaze us with their innovative and fascinating designs. The HMX does not disappoint and is available to purchase for $30,000. Please visit the MB&F website for more information.
