Introducing: The Montblanc TimeWalker Automatic Chronograph 41mm (Live Pics & Pricing)
November 28, 2018
One of a handful of new models Montblanc recently previewed ahead of SIHH is a new downsized version of their standard TimeWalker Automatic Chronograph. Newly sized at 41mm, the brand already produces a 43mm version of this chronograph and a 41mm TimeWalker three-hander. This new sizing can be had in one of two dial layouts, silver-white sub-dials on a black dial or the inverse of black on silver. Initial Thoughts I mean, what's not to like about 41mm? While I prefer the 12-hour bezel of the 43mm version to the 41mm's ceramic tachymeter scale, the bezel speaks directly to the automotive design inspiration of the TimeWalker and I think the proportions and wrist presence of this decidedly modern chronograph are better executed at 41mm.?Along with the smaller proportion, the case design has also been simplified, with smooth (non-skeletonized) lug profiles.? Running a Swiss-sourced Sellita SW500, the new TimeWalker Automatic Chronograph 41mm carries a retail price of $3625 and the story here is the new sizing. The styling manages to capture an automotive aesthetic without feeling half-baked or goofy and 41mm is a very agreeable and versatile size for a sports watch. As sizing preferences ebb and flow, this Montblanc is just one of many brands have begun to offer comparatively smaller iterations of their core models.?
