Oris is back with the second edition of its collaboration with Cervo Volante, a Swiss company that creates high-quality leather accessories from sustainably sourced and tanned deer hides. This release underscores Oris's commitment to sustainability, following initiatives such as its partnership with New York's Billion Oyster Project, and further establishes the brand as one with an environmentally conscious mindset. Normally, we don't start with straps in these introductions, but since that is where the collaboration lives, it feels only right. Cervo Volante takes deer hides, a by-product of population control required by Swiss environmental authorities, and transforms them into durable and beautiful leather goods. In this case, it becomes a deep mahogany-brown strap. Each piece also arrives with a Cervo Volante travel pouch made from the same leather, tying the collaboration together. The watch itself is a 40mm variant of the Big Crown Pointer Date, distinguished by details inspired by the outdoors. The classic pointer-date hand is tipped in forest green, while the dial is a gradient in rich burnt maple tones. Inside is Oris's Calibre 754, a Sellita-based automatic movement with a 41-hour power reserve.
