Rafael Nadals Australian Open Watch
January 30, 2022
Rafael Nadal is now, quantifiably, the greatest Mens Tennis player in the history of the sport. This morning, he cemented his place after taking down Daniil Medvedev in the Australian Open Mens Final, giving him a men's record 21st Grand Slam title (thats also one more than his legendary contemporaries Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic). Image courtesy of Getty Whats more, he achieved the feat after being down two sets to none. Aside from his wildly competitive spirit, what was the difference maker? Obviously, well say it was his watch. He played the entire match as he always does with an RM on wrist. Thats 5 1/2 hours of watch-wearing tennis for those counting at home. And this wasnt just any RM, but an RN RM. Its the Richard Mille RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal with its recognizable blue strap and and orange crown. A sapphire front and back give way to a movement held together by steel cables meant to look like literal tennis strings. The watch is forged form TitaCarb for peak lightness and maximum Grand Slam winning. For a complete breakdown of the watch, be sure to check out James Staceys coverage. Who knows how long Nadal will stand atop the mountain the other guys are just a Slam behind but today is his day, and that is?truly his watch.
