Subscribe to the show: (Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, TuneIn). Already heard it once or twice? Please leave a short review here, and tell us which guests we should have on! It's hard to believe, but our time at SIHH 2019 has officially come to a close. The show always seems to fly by, but at the end of day three we are left with tons of great watches to talk about and the first real glimpse of what 2019 might hold for all things horological. Before leaving the Palexpo halls for the last time this year, I sat down with Jack, James, Joe, and Jon to wrap up this year's show and talk about what we saw, what we learned, and what we'll remember most.? To kick things off, Joe gives us some insight into the industry at large. The SIHH is the first real temperature-taking moment of the year and an opportunity to look back on how the previous year finished. While most of us are in product-focused appointments, shooting photos and learning about watches we've never seen before, Joe is roaming the halls, talking to jewelers, industry folks, collectors, and more, getting the real story of what's going on, without all the glossy marketing. It turns out, there's a lot more at pay right now than you might think C you'll have to listen to see what I mean.?There is still plenty to learn from the products themselves too. Each of us picked a trend that we spotted and we discussed how these might play out over the year(s) ahead. Some are simple, some less so. While we might leaving Geneva tomorrow (or soon thereafter, depending on who you are), we're far from done with our SIHH coverage. Quite the opposite, actually. Be sure to check out our dedicated SIHH 2019 page on HODINKEE to continue following along as we bring you more hands-on looks at new watches, bigger trend pieces, fun watch spottings and more.?Also, let us know what you think of these SIHH podcast dispatches down in the comments. It will be time for Baselworld before you know it and we want to make sure we're giving you the very best audio experience we can. Thanks for listening and we'll be back Monday with your usual episode of HODINKEE Radio.?
