Introducing: The Breguet Classique 7337

For this year's new releases, Breguet decided to update a few of its classic watches, one of them being the Classique 7337. Originally based on the quarter-repeating calendar pocket watch no. 3833, the 7337 is basically the same classic watch you know and love but has a few aesthetic updates to the dial. The movement is still the ultra-thin automatic caliber 502.3 QSE1, the case is still 39mm, and it still has the same old-world charm that Breguet is known for. This year, the 7337 comes in white gold with a beautiful blue dial and a rose-gold version with a silvered dial. Now, the 7337 already came in white and rose gold but both had a silvered dial and different textures. The latest version has circular grain d'orge on the edges of the hour chapter, damier checkerboard for the small seconds and Clos de Paris hobnail in the center. The earlier example had guilloch, basket weave, and sunburst detailing respectively. All in all, this is a nice update to one of Breguet's staples.? Initial Thoughts Breguet does one thing extremely well, and that's refined, delicate, high-end watchmaking. The Classique 7337 is a classic for a reason: It is well-proportioned and elegantly executed. And while it would be easy to say that there is nothing innovative here (I mean, it is just a dial update after all), there is something admirable about re-making something that was seemingly already perfect. Dial-making is no easy feat, especially when you involve guilloch and other types of decorative finishes. The new blue dial is also a nice addition to the white-gold case that was already in existence. This isn't one of the most exciting releases, but then again, in this climate, it's best to play it safe.?
