Unless you've been living under a pile of moon rocks, you saw this week's release of the new Omega Speedmaster "Moonwatch" C the first true revamp of the watch in upwards of 50 years. With a new chronometer-certified Co-Axial movement, stepped dial, and tapered bracelet (among a slew of other tweaks and changes), the new models pack a ton of modern flourishes in keeping with the classic vintage design. ? With the release of the new Moonwatch, it's as good a time as any to revisit 2016's Week on the Wrist with another Speedy variant: The aptly named "First Omega in Space." Different from the standard production Speedmaster, the FOIS bridges the old with the new C most notably with its crown guard-less 39.7mm sizing.
