Introducing: The HIDDEN NY x G-Shock DW5600HDN257 (Live Pics)
July 11, 2025
The first time I ever heard of New York streetwear brand Hidden NY, it was because of Hodinkee alumnus Adam Becker. As colleagues, we geeked out about the brand's collaborations. While the usual streetwear designs like hoodies, sunglasses, and socks would be offered, a lot of the weirder stuff always caught my eye, like a branded ceramic planter, a baseball bat, or a table tennis set. It didn't hurt that the entirety of Hidden aesthetic is in green, notorious around the office for being my favorite color. Today, Hidden and G-Shock come back with the second collaboration in the DW5600HDN257. It continues to iterate off the iconic rectangular G-Shock silhouette. Still, this time, naysayers of the yellowing resin will be happy to find none of that on the new model. In white and green, the latest collaboration features a frosted resin bezel inlaid with green lettering, while the dial is minimally adorned with essential text. The strap and inner case are a clean white, with the Hidden logo not-so-hidden on the front of the strap. A little nod to the G-Shock nerds can be found in the addition of the matte black bull bars, which certainly change up the look of the very familiar shape and add even more impact protection to the dial. This explains why the dial is so minimal, since a lot of the more intricate text and graphics found on most 5600 models would be blocked by these bars. The caseback features an engraving of the brand's "In The Blink Of An Eye" motif. Finally, the Hidden icon logo can be revealed by turning on the LED backlight. The DW5600HDN257 launches later today, July 11th, on Hidden's website at 3 PM Eastern time, and starting July 24th, will be available on G-Shock's website as well as the SoHo store. It is priced at $175. What We Think I loved it when Hidden released its first G-Shock collaboration in 2023, with a very verdant take on a yellowing transparent G-Shock. Like many a streetwear release, it wasn't without strong opinions from the commenters, primarily because of the aesthetic choice to do an off-white resin. But I ate it up. I tried lining up at the G-Shock SoHo store on launch day, but didn't manage to score one. Naysayers of the previous model should find the new one, with its clean white colorway, an improvement, if not a somewhat safer design. I might have already hinted a little bit in my intro, but it shouldn't be any surprise that I like this new collaboration. I mean, for me, a white and frosted G-SHOCK with green on it is kind of the perfect 5600. But from an objective perspective, I think it makes a lot of sense for Hidden's devout audience of streetwear aficionados. It's clean and green, yet subtle enough to be an easter egg on someone's wrist. The addition of bull bars is great C you don't see them on all too many 5600s. I'm just curious if they ever experimented with making the bull bars green, too. For the same price as the first collaboration two years ago, this will be a fun one to pick up.?
