MoonSwatch Mission To Moonshine Gold Is Coming To New York

We've said it before, and we'll say it again: MoonSwatch never dies. Almost a month ago, and almost a year after the original MoonSwatch launch, Swatch unleashed yet another celestially-themed model into the universe: The Mission to Moonshine Gold. While the naming convention didn't come across quite as smooth as those with actual planetary objects C it did cause a stir yet again. And now, it's backagain, ?for one day onlyagain. To rewind, the Moonshine MoonSwatch was effectively (okay, literally) a Mission to the Moon with a chronograph hand coated in Moonshine Gold (Omega's proprietary gold material). When it was launched last month on March 7, you could only purchase it at select locations around the world on that very day, and only in person. MoonSwatch is not made for e-commerce. But Swatch did tease that we might see more on the next full moon. And C well C here we are. MoonSwatch Mission to Moonshine Gold. Swatch has just announced this morning on Instagram that the Mission to Moonshine Gold is bound for 14 new cities including our hometown of New York (at the Swatch Times Square location). On April 6, and only on April 6, at varying evening times (7:00 PM in NYC for example), this special edition will once again be made available to the queuing public. The timing of the release likely means that few, if any, will need to camp out overnight but who am I to say what you can and cannot do? When I covered the MoonSwatch launch in Times Square last year, the line measured something like four city blocks in length. It will be very interesting to see what a MoonSwatch line at rush hour in Times Square looks like (and you better believe we'll be there to find out). The Mission to Moonshine Gold will set the patiently waiting back $285 (plus tax) and we currently don't have ?word as to just how much supply the myriad Swatch locations will have. So get to yours early, because you never know how mad the MoonSwatch madness will be.
