Introducing: The Peter Speake-Marin Magister Vertical Double Tourbillon

In 1996 Peter Speake-Marin begin work on his Foundation Watch, the first timepiece to bear his name. Inside was a tourbillon bearing his famous "topping tool" design. Today, Speake-Marin introduces the Magister Vertical Double Tourbillon, featuring two one-minute tourbillons linked by a limited-slip spring clutch. “Thetourbillonis one of the things that I love most about watchmaking. Not because of the precision it gives to the timekeeping, but because of the animation it gives to the dial. It shows time moving in a way that a minute-repeater or agrandesonnerie, for example, cant offer. It’s something which, for me, is quite profound, illustrating the passing of time."– C Peter Speake-Marin The Magister Vertical Double Tourbillon features a beautiful enamel dial on the right of the watch, with the two tourbillons on the left. A 72-hour power reserve indicator lives above the dial, and a day / night indicator below. The limited-slip spring clutch averages out any differences in rate between the two tourbillons, and links them to their respective gear trains. Each gear train is powered by its own barrel that is wound simultaneously.
