Introducing: The Vero x ADPT Workhorse Limited Edition

The crack team at Worn & Wound is back with their latest release, a super summery take on the Vero Workhorse Chronograph that has been made in collaboration with ADPT. Featuring a boldly colorful Cerakote case and a matching bright blue dial for a decidedly pool party-ready vibe, this toolish, quartz-powered chronograph?is being offered in a very limited edition just in time for beach season.? With a steel case that measures 44.5mm wide and 13.5mm thick, the Vero Workhorse is a large and expressly sporty design, but not one that has been rendered into such a brightly colorful form in the past. For those not aware, ADPT (pronounced "adapt") is Worn & Wound's lifestyle EDC brand that offers a range of straps, watches, and accessories. In working together, Vero and ADPT have taken a very function-forward design and added the sort of fun you want on your wrist when you're making the most of those glorious summer months.? The case treatment is especially cheerful, with a bright aqua blue Cerakote treatment finished with flecks of white and bright yellow bezel guards that the brand calls bullhorns. The standard controls are on the left case side while the crown at two o'clock rotates the internal timing bezel. Inside, we find a Miyota 62S1 quartz chronograph movement, which offers 1/4 second resolution and a 60-minute maximum measure for the chronograph.? The Vero x ADPT Workhorse LE is being sold by the WindUp Shop for $499, but don't expect supplies to last all summer long as this collaboration is limited to just 100 units.? What We Think It's a big, chunky tool of a watch covered in color and fun details C which feels perfect for a summer watch, right? One of my favorite parts of the warmer season is the freedom to wear larger watches that might not always play nice with sleeves. T-shirt weather C or even better, bathing suit weather C opens up the options and my own personal willingness to a bit more color and a watch that needs a bit of room to breathe on my wrist.? As a base, in the same sort of way that I love the Omega Ploprof or my own Citizen Aqualand (one of my fav summer watches), the Workhorse Chronograph is a bold expression of a toolish design, and the added dose of color suits the watch much better than I would have expected. I especially like the blue case and the yellow bullhorns, which remind me of the especially colorful versions of New Balance sneakers.? Given the size and boisterous colorway, this watch won't be for everyone. But, with only 100 examples being made, if you're looking to lean into the idea of a summer watch with a bright and fun take on a solid and sporty chronograph, don't wait too long to grab your swimsuit and jump in C it'll be autumn before you know it.?
