Introducing: The Zenith Elite 6150

March 18, 2015

Zenith is in it for the long haul here at Baselworld 2015. At least thats what one can deduce from its latest offering, the Elite 6150. The Elite line is Zeniths slimmer, dressier offering, and with the 6150s more-than-100-hour power reserve, its almost guaranteed to be an enduring benchmark. The new Elite 6150 comes in a 42 mm stainless-steel case C a size that Zenith plans to make standard for the line. The case is polished throughout with tapered lugs that hopefully make this wear smaller than it is. The main attraction is the silver-toned dial. Not only is it cambered, but it also has feuille hands (even a feuille-shaped second hand) and matching leaf-shaped hour markers. The devil is in the details, and details, good or bad, are more pronounced in simple designs (which is why its crucial to get them right.)? Without a doubt, the new Elites pebble architecture has vintage nuances C like any watch that seems to melt at its perimeter would. This is no vintage re-hash though; its a modern iteration of vintage nuances that doesnt overwhelm todays standards. Inside this new model you will find the Elite 6150, an automatic manufacture movement that beats at 4Hz for over 100 hours. The history behind this caliber is rather neat. Zenith first introduced it in 94, and it actually won Movement of the Year at that Basel Fair. Today, Zenith added a second barrel and kept the movement thin at just under 4 mm while increasing its power reserve to over four days. That also aids in keeping the case thickness at 10 mm.?We're excited to get our hands on this, as well as other novelties from Zenith at Baselworld 2015. Be sure to stay tuned for live photos and pricing.?For more information, visit Zenith online.
